Early Christmas
Yesterday my family had our first holiday get-together. Many good things, it was not at my house, the food was delicious, and the kids all got superhero capes. Now they can run like the wind! Today at home I put a turkey breast in the crock-pot -- my belated Thanksgiving indulgence. My Christmas tree is up and lit, and the house smells like dinner. Life is good.

I sent you an email via your blog. Did you get it or did it go into your spam?
Our tree went up today. I still kind of miss seeing the snow at Christmas but guess I will learn to deal with the warm weather. LOL. See ya soon.
Hi Sue, yes, I got your email -- hopefully you got my response, too!
Snow, I might miss snow for a minute to two, too, but I would never miss the bitter cold!
It sounds fun to have family for the holidays. We'll be blessed if we can get together with my parents.
I try to wait until December 1st to start any Christmas festivities - music, decorations, etc. But when I got back yesterday from another quick trip to my parents this past weekend - my husband had done all the outdoor lights and decorations. It's always a comforting feeling to see Christmas come each year. I'll take my little boot to work today - it's a little ceramic decoration with my name on it made by a coworker many years ago.
The turkey is eaten, the kids and g-kids have all left. The house is awfully quiet. We have our Christmas lights up and I've started my shopping. We fly to Montana in 3 weeks, so we will get our share of snow and bitter cold this year. I think it will make us, not only thankful for our parents/g-parents, but also thankful for the warmer weather we experience at home. (However, it was only 35 degrees this morning, and for us, that's pretty DARN cold!!
