New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve in my house was always chocolate fondue night with my kids and nephews, and now -- thank goodness! -- I have grandchildren to serve as my excuse for a chocolate feast.

Wishing you all a very sweet 2009 - happy new year!

Sounds lovely!! We do lots of different appetizers for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. A good excuse to eat the things we rarely order in restaurants!! Have a Happy New Year!!

Oooo, that sounds so good. We all took naps so we could head to the beach at midnight to watch the fireworks from Ft. Myers Beach. Very windy, a bit chilly, and short fireworks but hey, we celebrated!! Happy New Year.

Oh, that sounds like a great tradition! I may keep it in mind for the future, when my twins learn to actually use utensils on a daily basis!

Ha ha Shama-Lama Mama, the wonder of chocolate fondue, kiddie style, is that there are no utensils. I give each little one their own little bowl of melted chocolate sauce and their own shared tray of fruit and teddy grahams and pretzels and such, and they can dip and double dip to their hearts' delights! In the early years, mostly they forget to dip at all, or eat fruit and chocolate as separate finger foods. Meanwhile, of course, on my side of the table (never photographed), proper etiquette and good table manners reign. A good time is had by all.
